OBEDIENCE - Regardless of Consequences

Whenever we hear or received a word from the Lord that seems contrary to what we want, our hearts rebel against him out of frustration and disappointment. We say we obey him but in truth, we want the Lord to obey us by giving to us all our heart's desire.

The priests and the prophets during the days of Jeremiah had sought to put him to death because he prophesied against their temple and their city. He knows that his obedience to the Lord will mean his life but just the same, he submitted himself without reservation. What is important for him is to obey the Lord no matter what the consequences may bring.

Father God, please forgive me for not obeying every word that you say. I have no excuse in doing so and up until now, I continue to sin against you. I wanted to be the person you want me to be but I am weak. I need your strength and determination to overcome this struggle of mine so that in the end, I can truly stand pleasing to your sight.

In a very special way, I thank you for your unfailing provisions that keeps me well and going each day. At a time when I need you most, you are always there to provide for my needs.

In Jesus Name, I give you back all the glory and praises, now and forever. Amen.

PETER'S TEACHING ON JESUS

The moving spirit behind this Act of the Apostles is OBEDIENCE.

In response to the high priest when the apostles were set before the council, Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men. We are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him."

The apostles teaching on Jesus:

  • Jesus was raised from the dead by God the Father.
  • God exalted Him at his right hand as Leader and Savior.
  • He is the Savior who gives repentance and forgives sins.
In Revelations chapter 5, this was echoed by the "elders" together with the voices of angels and other living creatures, saying:

  • Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.
  • Him who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb.
  • Who received power and wealth and wisdom and might
  • Honor and glory and blessing!
In earth and in heaven, the apostles were with Jesus. From "being sent" as apostles to teach, they are now "elders" who continues to worship the Lord. As the Lord had promised them, "I shall be with you for all time".

CAN ONE PERSON MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD?

It's all about this one person . . .

Who; out of disobedience has brought sin to the world. He was given an eternal life but because of sin, he brought death to himself and the entire human race. His transgression altered the original plan of life that God intended for man. The paradise was lost, all because of this one person . . .

It's all about this one person . . .

Who; out of obedience has taken away the sins of the world. In Him was eternal life and because of this gracious gift, He restored life to Himself and saved the entire human race. His love brought back the original plan of life that God intended for man. The kingdom is at hand, all because of this one person . . .
