You are in Christ Jesus and the spirit of life has freed you from sin and death. God knows that your flesh is weak and powerless to resist temptation, that is why He sent His own son for your sake. In Him, your life was transformed from living not according to the flesh but according to the spirit.
To desire for material wealth is to live in accordance with the flesh and such concern only leads to death. On the hand, to obey God's purpose is to live in accordance with the spirit and the concern of the spirit is life and peace. The concerns of the flesh usually produces hostility to God that definitely does not please Him. Only by the Spirit of God and that is Christ who dwells in you can bring you to a life that is pleasing to God.
In Christ, although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is alive because of righteousness. His Spirit that dwells in you will give you life. Life that can not be compared to anything of this world because all things of the world are just in the palm of His hands. God is the creator of all things so why settle for less?
Those who seek God and receive blessings from the Lord are those who truly love Him. They delight in clean and peaceful living with hearts centered to love God and to love others most especially their families. They are not devoted to any idols except God alone who rules over their lives.
The basic key to live in Christ and for His Spirit to dwell in you is repentance. You must first plant the seed of repentance in your heart so that it can grow to produce all the fruits of goodness in you. No fruit can ever be harvested if no seed was planted. Repentance is something that you cultivate and fertilize otherwise it will die and shall bear no fruit.
