PETER'S TEACHING ON JESUS

The moving spirit behind this Act of the Apostles is OBEDIENCE.

In response to the high priest when the apostles were set before the council, Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men. We are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him."

The apostles teaching on Jesus:

  • Jesus was raised from the dead by God the Father.
  • God exalted Him at his right hand as Leader and Savior.
  • He is the Savior who gives repentance and forgives sins.
In Revelations chapter 5, this was echoed by the "elders" together with the voices of angels and other living creatures, saying:

  • Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.
  • Him who sits upon the throne and to the Lamb.
  • Who received power and wealth and wisdom and might
  • Honor and glory and blessing!
In earth and in heaven, the apostles were with Jesus. From "being sent" as apostles to teach, they are now "elders" who continues to worship the Lord. As the Lord had promised them, "I shall be with you for all time".
